UGBS PASAL Organises Career Development Seminar

On 4th December 2024, The Public Administration Students Association, Legon in collaboration with Finance Students Association and Accounting Students Association all at the University of Ghana Business School organised a Career Development Seminar at the R.S. Amegashie Auditorium to prepare students for the job market. 

Dr. Benjamin Otchere-Ankrah, Lecturer at Central University College, spoke about what drives career choice and initiatives to take to pursue a successful career choice. He advised that they practice self-awareness, identify their potentials and develop them. Dr. Otchere-Ankrah mentioned that parents should not impose but help their children choose career that aligns with their interests and passion. 

Dr. Otchere-Ankrah noted that, they should be open for career shifts as career path is not always determined by what you study in school but driven by passion. He stated that aside education and experiences attitude is key in career development. Also, Dr. Otchere-Ankrah emphasized that effort is required but quality result is preferred. Dr. Otchere-Ankrah encouraged students to attend career counselling and workshops, network regularly to access opportunities and be lifelong learners. He further advised that they volunteer in interested areas to be resourceful and stay prepared for potential opportunities.
