University Council Approves Two UGBS Faculty Promotions
The University Council, at its meeting held on 26th September 2024 has approved the promotions of two faculty members at the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS).
Prof. Lord Mensah, Department of Finance, has been promoted to the rank of full professor in Financial Economics. Prof. Mensah is a highly motivated academic with a PhD in Applied Economics-Finance from the University of Antwerp, Belgium. He has a wealth of experience in financial modelling and macroeconomic forecasting. He has consulted for several international organisations, including the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Ministry of Trade and Industry in Ghana. Prof. Mensah has presented his work at numerous international conferences and has a significant number of publications and working papers to his credit.
In addition, Dr. James Kwame Mensah, Department of Public Administration, has been promoted to the rank of Associate Professor in Public Administration and Sustainable Development. Prof. Mensah holds a PhD in Development Administration and an MPhil in Public Administration. He has made notable contributions to research on urbanisation, resilience, and the circular economy. He is also a fellow at the Penn Institute of Urban Research (Penn IUR), University of Pennsylvania. He has consulted for organisations such as Women in Informal Employment: Globalising and Organising (WIEGO) and the United Cities and Local Government Africa (UCLGA).
